Our hearts are broken. Our beloved camp was demolished by Hurricane Helene 2024 from the "1 in 1000 Year Flood" in Western North Carolina.

Devastation to Camp Driftwood has left us with almost a total loss, except for 1 property standing, but severely damaged. (See before and after pics below.)

We are needing to clean up, rebuild, and reclaim this special destination so that it's stunning riverbanks can be enjoyed by our friends and family for years to come. As you can imagine, our rebuild requires funding for materials, labor, and large equipment.

Alexander Haus Main @Camp Driftwood Asheville is the perfect place to stay for your weekend or weeklong stay! This fully remodeled two bedroom, one bath has a real kitchen, with prep space! Prepare an actual holiday feast- dine inside at Dining Nook with seating for 6 pp. Make use of the gas grill on the deck- overlooking the wide lawn leading to the river. Enjoy your meal on the covered deck or take it to the Riverside picnic table! Asheville is 15 mins away, but you may just stay here n play!

Alexander Haus Main in the lower portion of a two story rental, you may see the folks from upstairs out in the lawn or playing in the River. As for running into us, catch us if you can:) No really, we are around if you should need us, but the Camp spans 1/3 of a mile of River frontage-so we are up, down and all around! You may see us sneaking into the maintenance room in the basement of the house, but we try to be as unobtrusive as possible!

Alexander Haus Main is part of a tiny campground, squished on a little strip of land between The French Broad River and Old Marshall Highway! Guests at Alex Haus have access to the whole camp, which spans about 1/3 of a mile of river frontage. Feel free to stroll the length of the grounds and enjoy the Community Firepit, Swimming Beach, and Fishing Beach. Big fun-walk or have some one drive you up to the top end of camp and tube/float/boat back down to Alex Haus!!

The grounds right around Alex Haus are really only used by guests in Alex Haus Main and the Roost at Alex Haus, but you may see folks exiting the river with their tubes:)

Rates & Availability

Cancellation Policy: One hundred percent (100.00%) of the total booking charges (less $35.00 cancellation fee) will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 14 days prior to the arrival date of the reservation. For cancellations made within 14 days prior to the arrival date, no refund will be issued.
